This call started with something many property owners notice first: scratching sounds in the walls and small signs around storage areas.
The homeowner had not actually seen a mouse yet, but they knew something was not right. That is very common with mice. Many times, you hear them before you see them.
When we inspected the property, we found a few signs of activity near the garage and storage areas. There were droppings, possible travel paths and small access points that mice could use to move inside.

The main issue was that mice had found access to shelter.
Around the garage and storage areas, there were small openings that may not look like much at first. For mice, small gaps can be enough.
We also found a few conditions that can make rodent activity more likely, including stored items, quiet spaces, possible food access and protected areas where mice could hide.
This is why rodent control is not just about catching mice. It is about understanding how they got in and why they stayed.

For this service, we started by inspecting the areas where mice are most likely to travel, enter and nest.
We checked garage areas, storage spaces, exterior walls, foundation areas, utility openings, possible entry points and hidden corners where activity may be present.
Once we found the signs of activity, we built a plan around the source of the problem. The goal was to address the active issue and help the homeowner understand what could be done to reduce future activity.
By the end of the inspection, the homeowner had a clear picture of what was happening and where the mice may have been entering.
They also had practical next steps, including prevention recommendations and areas to monitor.
That is important because mice can reproduce quickly. Catching the problem early can prevent a small issue from becoming a much bigger one.

Seal small gaps around the exterior.
Keep garage doors closed when possible.
Store food and pet food in sealed containers.
Reduce clutter in garages and storage rooms.
Keep trash sealed.
Check around vents, utility openings and foundation areas.
Watch for new droppings or chew marks.
Inspect storage areas more often during colder months.

Mice are quiet, fast and good at staying hidden.
By the time you start noticing scratching or finding droppings, they may already have regular travel paths inside or around your property.
That is why a proper inspection matters. We look beyond the obvious signs and check the areas mice commonly use to enter, hide and nest.

If you are hearing scratching sounds, finding droppings or noticing activity around garages, basements or storage areas, it is better to deal with it early.
Moxie Pest Control can help inspect the problem and recommend a plan to reduce mice activity around your property in Chubbuck & South Eastern Idaho.
